Mr. Moshe Levhar Chairman of "Neve Yam"
and Village |
Most of us sit around on Friday nights and ‘complain’ about the difficult
economic situation in Israel and the many families who have become
destitute.
The “Neve Yam” neighborhood decided to do something about it and adopt needy
families.
Moshe Labachar, Chairman of the Neighborhood Committee, suggested that the
“Scouts” take part in the venture and the “Ya’ad” Scouts troop volunteered
to handle the fundraising. As a result, last Thursday, they went from home
to home in the neighborhood to raise funds and within a single evening,
thousands of shekels and even foodstuffs were donated.
Mr. Labachar has stressed that every penny of the collected funds reach the
needy families through the Association that he founded for this purpose.
The Association was founded two years ago along with Ronen Zinger and all
parties concerned donate their efforts on a purely voluntary basis for the
benefit of this sacred goal.
In light of the operation’s success, Mr. Labachar promised that the
neighborhood would continue to do its utmost to keep helping needy families
and is calling upon other neighborhoods to join this venture.
As far as I am concerned, “we would be pleased to help other neighborhoods
with the organization, advice and assistance required for similar
operations”, he said.
